Get to know Neurobiologist Dr. Mohammad Housini, who serves patients in Texas.

Dr. Housini is a physician-scientist with a strong commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes for all. With a mission to utilize data-driven approaches, he aims to make a significant impact in the field of medicine.

As a Dual Doctoral DO/PhD Candidate at the UNT Health Science Center, his current research focuses on the Neurobiology of Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). Specifically, their work centers around AD & Related Dementia (ADRD) genetics and health disparities. This work is critical, as Alzheimer’s Disease affects millions of people globally and is a leading cause of disability and death among older adults.

His dedication to his research and his long-term goal of influencing healthcare policy reform highlights his commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need. By combining his expertise in medicine and research, Dr. Housini’s work has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach healthcare, making it more accessible and equitable for all.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
